Lucknow’s iconic Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Park in Gomti Nagar is all set to get a major facelift. Soon, visitors will be greeted with a brand-new attraction — the city’s largest skating rink — a move that promises to transform the recreational experience for residents and tourists alike.

The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has approved the ambitious project, which comes with an estimated cost of ₹4 crore. The rink will be developed at the site of a water body that had been lying neglected for years. Officials said that the construction will begin after the monsoon season, with a projected completion timeline of 180 to 200 days. 

Once ready, the facility will not only provide entertainment but also encourage a healthier lifestyle among the city’s youth. Skating enthusiasts, who often struggle to find dedicated open spaces in Lucknow, are expected to benefit the most.

The rink is likely to cater to both beginners and experienced skaters, making it a hub for recreational activity as well as potential training grounds for aspiring athletes. Families visiting the park will also find the addition appealing, offering children and teenagers an engaging outdoor activity.
