Lucknow may soon add a new attraction to its growing list of leisure destinations. A floating restaurant on the Gomti River is being planned, offering residents and visitors a fresh way to enjoy dining, celebrations, and entertainment in the heart of the city.

According to reports, the Inland Water Transport Authority has transferred responsibility for the project to the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA). The proposed project is estimated to cost nearly ₹4 crore, with around ₹2.81 crore already released to support its development.

The floating restaurant is expected to accommodate approximately 100 guests at a time. If completed as planned, it will provide a one-of-a-kind experience where people can enjoy meals, family gatherings, private parties, and social events while floating on the Gomti River. The project aligns with ongoing efforts to enhance Lucknow's tourism and recreational infrastructure.

Officials are expected to begin the tender process for construction soon. Before work starts, authorities are also addressing technical challenges related to maintaining suitable water levels in the Gomti River to ensure the project's long-term viability and safety.

The proposed floating restaurant could become a major attraction for locals and tourists alike, adding a modern riverside experience to Lucknow's evolving urban landscape. If successful, it may further strengthen the city's position as one of North India's most vibrant destinations for culture, food, and leisure.
