In a bid to enhance public trust and communication between citizens and the police, the Uttar Pradesh Police (Lucknow division) has launched the ‘E-Saathi Campaign’ — a special initiative focused on spreading awareness about crucial helpline numbers and digital tools that ensure safety and timely assistance for all.
A Step Towards a Safer, More Connected City
The ‘E-Saathi’ campaign aims to familiarise residents with various emergency and safety helplines, including 112 (emergency services), 1090 (women’s helpline), 181 (women’s distress helpline), and 1098 (child helpline). Alongside these numbers, the campaign also promotes the use of mobile apps like 112 India and UP-COP, designed to make reporting crimes, seeking help, and staying informed easier and faster.
Empowering Citizens Through Technology
Through ‘E-Saathi,’ the police aim to bridge the communication gap that often exists between law enforcement and the public. By leveraging technology, the campaign seeks to empower residents to respond quickly to emergencies and promote a safer urban environment.
Officials highlighted that awareness remains a crucial component in ensuring citizen safety, especially with rising concerns around cybercrime, women’s safety, and emergency preparedness.
By improving accessibility to helplines and digital tools, it fosters greater trust, responsiveness, and public participation in ensuring collective safety.
