The state capital will soon see another massive infrastructure project in addition to the 100-kilometer outer ring road. This time, though, it will be 170 kilometres of railway tracks rather than a road. To control train pressure at important railway stations including Lucknow Junction, Charbagh, and Aishbagh, the "Lucknow Orbital Railway Corridor" would be built.

In this regard, Northern Railway DRM SM Sharma stated that the approximately 170 km corridor has the following sections: Aishbagh-Daliganj-Sitapur City, Lucknow-Kanpur, and Lucknow-Shahjahanpur-Moradabad.

A greenfield mega passenger terminal with more than 30 railway tracks and more than 20 platforms to effectively handle large passenger volumes will be a significant feature of the corridor.

S.M. Sharma, divisional railway manager, stated: The project's primary goal is to ease rail traffic congestion in the Lucknow region and guarantee seamless operation. There will be connections between the Lucknow-Barabanki-Gonda, Lucknow-Barabanki-Ayodhya, Lucknow-Sultanpur-Varanasi, and Lucknow-Raebareli-Varanasi sections so that train operations can be carried out efficiently.

This project's survey has been approved and the plan will soon be put into action. The project's completion by 2031 has been set as the goal.
