Air India has announced a major boost for international travellers from Uttar Pradesh with the launch of a direct Lucknow–Dubai flight from 8 December 2025. The airline will operate Flight IX-124 three times a week—Monday, Wednesday and Friday—departing Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport at 9:10 PM and reaching Dubai in about 4 hours 20 minutes. The return flight will also run on the same days, offering smooth round-trip connectivity without the need to travel through Delhi or Mumbai.
This new non-stop service is expected to significantly benefit thousands of people from Lucknow and its surrounding districts who frequently travel to Gulf countries for work, business, and family visits. The route will save time, reduce travel costs, and offer a more convenient option for NRIs and workers travelling to the UAE.
Local businesses, especially from Lucknow and Kanpur’s industrial belt, are also expected to benefit from faster access to Dubai, an important hub for trade, exhibitions, textiles, electronics, and corporate meetings. Travel agencies predict a surge in tourism as Dubai remains a top destination for holidays, family trips, and honeymoon packages.
The new flight strengthens the growing international profile of Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, which has been expanding its global network and upgrading facilities with a new terminal. Air India has also hinted that if demand rises, the number of flights on this route could increase in the future.
This service is part of Air India’s wider international expansion under the Tata Group, which includes a major fleet upgrade and a focus on connecting more Indian state capitals directly to global destinations. Overall, the Lucknow–Dubai direct flight marks a significant step in improving connectivity, economic opportunities, and global access for Uttar Pradesh.
