Lucknow Eye: City's New ₹2,750 Crore Landmark Takes Shape!

Lucknow is preparing for one of its biggest tourism projects yet. The proposed Lucknow Eye and Adventure City will bring a London Eye-inspired giant observation wheel, world-class adventure attractions, theme parks, and a modern waterfront experience to the banks of the Gomti River. With an estimated investment of ₹2,750 crore, the project aims to position Lucknow among India's top urban tourism destinations.

The biggest attraction will be the Lucknow Eye, a giant observation wheel planned with a 150-metre diameter—even larger than London's famous London Eye. Once completed, visitors will enjoy panoramic views of Lucknow's skyline from fully enclosed, modern cabins, making it one of the city's most recognisable landmarks.

But the project goes far beyond a giant wheel. Plans include an Adventure City featuring international-standard theme parks, high-tech rides, adventure sports, family entertainment zones, and waterfront experiences along the Gomti River. The project will be developed by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, although the exact site is yet to be finalised.

The mega project also fits into Lucknow's broader transformation of the Gomti riverfront, where several tourism and recreation initiatives—including adventure sports, laser shows, museums, and green spaces—are already underway or planned. Together, these developments are expected to attract more tourists, generate employment, and create new leisure options for residents.

If the project moves ahead as planned, the Lucknow Eye could become a signature attraction for the city, much like the London Eye is for the UK, giving residents and visitors a new way to experience the City of Nawabs.
