Lucknow is buzzing with a new unexpected attraction—and it’s not a café, a park, or a shopping hub. It’s a flyover!
The newly built flyover along the Lucknow–Kanpur highway near Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport has become the city’s latest hangout, thanks to its panoramic view of airplanes taking off and landing.
Originally designed to ease vehicular congestion, the 1.4 km elevated stretch has quickly caught the attention of locals for a different reason: it offers a clear, thrilling view of aircraft just before they soar into the skies. Youngsters have been spotted taking photos, reels, and video calls with planes in the background. Families, bikers, and groups of friends pause to watch planes take off, turning the flyover into a mini viewing deck. It’s already trending as a “free airplane-spotting spot” in the city.
Lucknowites have always loved unique gathering spots—whether it’s the banks of the Gomti River, the Ambedkar Park lawns, or Hazratganj’s historic streets. This new flyover taps into that same need for open views, fresh air, and something Instagram-worthy.
If you’re driving by, the views are worth a glance — especially at sunset, when planes take off against a golden Lucknow sky. But avoid stopping or walking on the flyover, as it poses serious safety risks.
It’s free, it’s different, and it offers a slice of urban adventure!
