The area around Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSIA) is set for a major makeover, with an integrated airport city planned across 31 lakh sq ft. The development by Adani Airport City Limited (AACL) is expected to bring together hotels, offices, retail, dining and entertainment spaces in one destination.

The project is part of Adani Airports’ larger plan to create integrated airport districts across six airports in India, including Lucknow. The company has said these developments are intended to function as mixed-use urban destinations rather than just spaces connected to airport operations.

For Lucknow, the proposed airport city could add a new commercial and lifestyle hub close to one of the city’s busiest gateways. The mix of hospitality, retail, workplaces, food and entertainment is also expected to make the airport area more useful for both travellers and local residents.

The wider Adani Airport City programme covers more than 655 acres across six airports, with around 22 million sq ft of mixed-use development planned in its first phase. The overall initiative includes investments in hotels, retail, offices, food and beverage, entertainment and convention infrastructure.

The development also fits into Lucknow’s growing hospitality and commercial landscape, with new hotel projects being planned in areas connected to the airport and other major business corridors.
