PM Modi in Lucknow on Dec 25: Traffic Diversions Explained

Rashtra Prerna Sthal inauguration and Christmas events prompt citywide diversions on December 25—here’s what commuters need to know.

Lucknow is set for heightened security and major traffic changes on December 25 as Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits the city for the inauguration of Rashtra Prerna Sthal in Vasant Kunj Yojana. With the high-profile event coinciding with Christmas celebrations, the Lucknow Traffic Police has issued an extensive advisory to manage crowd movement and ensure smooth passage for VIPs.

The 65-acre Rashtra Prerna Sthal, situated along Hardoi Road, is a newly developed green memorial complex featuring the city’s tallest statues of national leaders, including Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. The inauguration, held on Vajpayee’s birth anniversary, will also be attended by UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and senior dignitaries.

To manage the expected surge in movement, traffic diversions will be enforced from midnight on December 25 until the event concludes.
