Lucknow’s traffic woes may finally see some relief! The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has announced the construction of a 2,300-metre-long four-lane flyover connecting La Martiniere College to G-20 Road. This major infrastructure project, estimated at ₹315 crore, is designed to ease congestion and improve connectivity from the city centre to Shaheed Path, the airport, and Ayodhya Road.

According to Prathamesh Kumar, Vice Chairman of LDA, the flyover is part of the Green Corridor Project, which aims to strengthen the city’s traffic network. In earlier phases, work from IIM Road to Pakka Pul and Pakka Pul to Samata Mulak Chauraha was completed or nearing completion.

The new phase—La Martiniere to G-20 Road—will feature a combined flyover and rail overbridge (ROB) that runs over the Pipraghat railway line. Once ready, the project will significantly decongest busy intersections such as 1090 Chauraha, Kalidas Marg, and Vikramaditya Marg, making travel smoother and faster.

Officials estimate a two-year completion timeline. Alongside this, a 250-metre-long bridge over the Gomti River will also be built under the Green Corridor plan, connecting Army Land to G-20 Road. This bridge, with a projected cost of ₹60 crore, is expected to be completed within a year.

Once both projects are complete, travel between Hazratganj, Shaheed Path, Ekana Stadium, Airport, and Ayodhya Road will become much easier—reducing congestion in the heart of the city and giving residents faster, safer routes across Lucknow.
