In an important step towards making Lucknow a contemporary metropolitan centre, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has started construction on a 188-acre Central Park and golf course as part of the planned IT City project. In order to provide a complete living experience, the project intends to combine commercial, residential, and recreational areas.

The IT City is being built on 2,858 acres between Kisan Path and the Sultanpur National Highway. Within this vast space, 188 acres will be devoted to the Central Park and golf course. Local farmers from Mohari Khurd and Mohari Kalan villages gave soil to LDA officials symbolically on June 2, 2025, as part of a customary bhumi pujan ceremony. With the deployment of heavy gear to start work in two sectors, this marked the official start of development on about 200 bighas of land.

Plans for the IT City project call for around 5,000 residential plots that range in size from 72 to 200 square meters, in addition to group living options. It is anticipated that the development will improve the city's infrastructure and create a significant number of job opportunities too.

LDA Vice-Chairman Prathamesh Kumar highlighted the project's emphasis on creating a lot of jobs and providing high-quality residential infrastructure. The city is a perfect centre for urban growth because of its advantageous position and first-rate road connectivity.

It is projected that the IT City project, which will provide a contemporary living space with first-rate amenities and aid in Lucknow's urban growth, will be introduced around Diwali this year.
