Lucknow’s Gomti Riverfront is preparing to add a unique leisure and tourism experience with the launch of a luxury tourist cruise that will soon sail between Hanuman Setu and the Gomti Barrage. Construction has begun near Hanuman Setu, and authorities expect the cruise to be ready for passengers in about five months.

The 45-metre-long and 10-metre-wide cruise vessel will be able to accommodate up to 200 passengers at a time, offering 30 to 45-minute scenic rides along the river. In addition to the leisurely river tour, the cruise is designed with modern amenities: an open restaurant on the upper deck, a VIP lounge, conference hall and digital screens — making it suitable for dining, meetings or group outings.

Developed under a public-private partnership model, the project is being carried out by a Kolkata-based company selected by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA). The firm is investing around ₹16 crore in the cruise’s construction and will pay annual revenue to the LDA once operations begin.

Proposed ticket prices for the cruise are around ₹300 per person, with additional charges for optional services such as lunch, dinner or buffet meals onboard. A trained marine crew, including a captain and support staff, will ensure safety and assist passengers during the ride.

Following years of planning for enhanced riverfront activities, this cruise project is expected to become a new attraction for Lucknow residents and tourists alike, offering a fresh way to enjoy the city’s riverside views and leisure scene.
