In a move straight out of an action movie—or maybe a Need for Speed spin-off—Lucknow’s traffic police are gearing up to patrol city roads on racer-style motorbikes. Yes, the city of nawabs is now adding a little vroom for better traffic management.
Police men with specialised training who ride fast racer-style motorcycles would be in charge of Lucknow. With the kind of agility that vehicles and jeeps just cannot match, these motorcycles will patrol traffic hotspots, respond to occurrences promptly, and enforce laws more effectively—all while swerving through traffic bottlenecks.
The bikes are equipped with:
- Sirens and beacons
- Mobile communication systems
- Dash cams and GPS tracking
- Breath analysers
From Hazratganj to Gomti Nagar, and Charbagh to Aminabad, these patrol bikes will now be a regular sight on the streets—keeping an eye on traffic violators and ensuring smoother flow.
Although this action is now only a trial initiative, officials think it will improve enforcement, decrease traffic violations, and expedite emergency responses. More of these units might be placed throughout the city and even other regions of Uttar Pradesh if they prove to be effective.
