Lucknow has a new neighbourhood green space to add to its list of family-friendly parks: Ekta Van in the Jiamau/Dalibag area — developed and maintained by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA). The park blends landscaping with practical amenities so residents of the surrounding wards can enjoy daily exercise, safe play for children and quiet time among trees.
At Ekta Van, you'll find a dedicated kids’ play area, an open gym for adults, a jogging track, covered gazebos and seating, an open canteen and parking for both two- and four-wheelers. These features make the park suitable for families, seniors and fitness enthusiasts alike. The LDA’s post announcing the park lists these amenities and highlights the park as a peaceful, healthy spot for visitors.
Ekta Van is also being used as a community focal point: recently the park hosted a government event where keys to newly built flats on reclaimed public land were handed over to economically weaker families — a sign of LDA and state programs using reclaimed spaces for public benefit. If you follow LDA updates you’ll see similar projects and neighbourhood park initiatives across the city.
The development of Ekta Van fits into a wider Uttar Pradesh push to create more “van” (park/green) projects such as Atal, Ekta and Eklavya Vans across districts — initiatives that aim to conserve green cover while giving citizens accessible urban nature and recreational facilities. For Lucknow residents this means better local open spaces and more opportunities for community activities near home.
Quick morning jog or evening walk on the track.
Safe playtime for kids with dedicated equipment.
An affordable outing — bring a mat, enjoy the shade, and relax in the gazebos.
