The city of Lucknow is gearing up for an exciting rendezvous with independent cinema: the Lucknow Short Film Festival (LSFF) 2025.

Already in its 6th season, LSFF has been steadily carving a niche for short films in the region, bringing together filmmakers, audiences, critics, and enthusiasts under one roof. This edition promises a vibrant mix of regional and pan-Indian voices, languages, and cinematic styles.

Key Highlights & What to Expect:

- From among hundreds of submissions, 20 short films have been selected for screening during the festival. These films span multiple languages, including Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, and English—a deliberate effort to represent India’s linguistic diversity.

- The LSFF 2025 edition is organized under the banner of “regional voices, global stories” — underlining that while the festival embraces local sensibilities, it also aspires for storytelling that resonates beyond borders. It is presented by the AMREN Foundation in collaboration with Lucknow Film Forum (LFF).

The Lucknow Film Forum website lists a distinguished jury for this edition:

- Jyoti Kapur Das

- Faisal Malik

- Pankaj Kothari

- Sanjiv Sharma

- Rukhsana Tabassum

- Svati Chakravarty Bhatkal

- Kabir Khurana

With an experienced jury and involvement of performers and industry names, participants may find opportunities for collaboration, feedback, or mentorship. Hosting such an event in Lucknow strengthens the city’s identity as an active cultural hub, not just for classical arts but also contemporary cinema.

When: 25th & 26th October.
