To celebrate the commitment of India's tribal community, Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, launched the International Tribal Participation Festival. The goal of this celebration, which honours Birsa Munda's 150th birthday, is to empower and promote tribal culture with the participation of artists from Indian states and overseas.
To promote tribal involvement, the event is being organised in partnership with the Uttar Pradesh Scheduled Caste and Tribe Research and Training Institute, the Uttar Pradesh Folk and Tribal Culture Institute, and IFFCO, New Delhi. In addition to traditional events, there is a bazaar where guests can buy crafts created by indigenous artists.
In order to celebrate the tribal groups of Uttar Pradesh, a variety of events and activities are planned to be part of this lively celebration of tribal culture, history, and contributions to society. The event seeks to encourage increased tribal involvement and provide a stage for showcasing their rich cultural legacy.
Adityanath highlighted the efforts made by the Uttar Pradesh government to strengthen tribal groups after the BJP took office in 2017. Attempts are made to preserve their cultural history through museums and educational facilities, as well as to link tribal organisations with government programs.
Date: Till 20th November.
Venue: Uttar Pradesh Sangeet Natak Academy, Lucknow.
