The Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway will be closed for heavy vehicle traffic for two months following Holi, according to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
Because of the high volume of vehicles, the expressway's development is delayed, necessitating a total prohibition by NHAI. On a daily basis, almost 100,000 heavy vehicles move between Kanpur and Lucknow.
The NHAI plans to present the idea for the diversion of specific routes to the traffic police and senior administrative officials in order to guarantee the continuous construction of the new expressway between Lucknow and Kanpur by June. The path will reopen as usual after the repair is completed.
The Daroga Khera section of the Outer Ring road is presently under development, according to official NHAI sources, and a slip lane will be built for direct vehicle access. NHAI anticipates that the slip road project will be completed by the Holi holiday, with 80% of the work already completed.
A slip road next to Daroga Khera will be used to redirect vehicles heading from Lucknow to Kanpur to the Outer Ring Road. Vehicles from Kanpur can travel to Mohanlalganj and Gosaiganj via Pradhan Dhaba (Bani), after which they can continue on the Purvanchal Motorway.
