Indian Railways has added another jewel to its fleet of modern trains with the launch of the Saharanpur–Lucknow Vande Bharat Express. Announced by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on September 22, 2025, the new semi-high-speed train marks a major milestone in enhancing connectivity between western Uttar Pradesh and the state capital, Lucknow.
The launch of this train is particularly significant for the people of Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, and nearby regions, as it directly connects western UP to central UP with a faster, smoother, and more comfortable journey. Earlier, passengers had to rely on longer routes and slower trains, but the Vande Bharat is expected to cut travel time substantially, making daily commuting, business trips, and tourism more convenient.
The train is expected to significantly reduce journey time between Saharanpur and Lucknow. While exact schedule and stoppage details are yet to be officially announced, it is anticipated that the Vande Bharat will complete the journey in nearly half the time taken by conventional trains, boosting convenience for both business travelers and tourists.
The train is equipped with ergonomic reclining seats, rotating executive class chairs, individual charging sockets, and bio-vacuum toilets. Safety features include CCTV cameras, emergency alarm buttons, and talk-back units.
