The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has revealed plans to create the first Biodiversity Park in the city in the Gomti Nagar neighbourhood as part of a new project. Reclaimed from the Sahara Group, the park will be built on a 75-acre plot of land.

This will be the city’s first biodiversity park. A butterfly park, a tranquil lake, natural wetlands, and other features intended to draw migratory and native birds are all included in the comprehensive project study. The conservation of rare plants from the Gomti river basin, a lotus park, and a Natural Interpretation Centre that teaches tourists about biodiversity are going to be some of the main attractions.

To improve the park's natural aesthetics, artificial mountains made of soil removed from the lake will be planted with grass and herbs. A Natural Interpretation Centre will be built inside the park, maintaining the area as a reserve forest. To inform guests about biodiversity and to provide them with information about the plants, birds, animals, and insects that can be found in the park, field biologists will be assigned.

By fostering conservation and sustainable practices, the Gomti Biodiversity Park hopes to enhance Lucknow's natural environment and establish itself as a major ecotourism and educational destination.
