Amidst tension between the two nations, BCCI has called off IPL 2025 indefinitely. With the final set for May 25 in Kolkata, the cricket event was approaching its final round. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Lucknow SuperGiants were scheduled to play each other at Ekana Stadium on May 9. The board reached this decision after reviewing the current situation with the Government of India.

“We have decided to indefinitely suspend the IPL. The players’ safety is our utmost priority. Hence we decided to stop the tournament for now. We’ll decide later if and when the tournament can resume. Right now, national interest is of utmost importance,” said the BCCI.

Together with the most recent game, there have been 58 games played this season. Twelve group stage matches are scheduled to be played in cities including Mumbai, Jaipur, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru (2), Hyderabad, Ahmedabad (3), and Lucknow (2 matches). Kolkata and Hyderabad were to host the playoff round.
