This museum, which opened its doors in 1863, is the oldest in both Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh. The State Museum, Lucknow, located within the premises of the Lucknow Zoo is proud of its diverse collection of galleries, which feature objects from all throughout history, including Stone Age relics and marvels of natural history. 1. Numerous galleries can be found within the four-story museum, including galleries dedicated to Jain art, Indian sculpture, archaeology, Nawabs art and coinage, Egyptian art, metal art, natural history, and Buddha art, among others.

2. In addition to its vast collection, the museum is well-known for its instructional films and programmes, which make it a vibrant centre for learning and exploration for both college students and schoolchildren.

3. The wooden sarcophagus and the 1,000-year-old Egyptian mummy are two of the State Museum's numerous treasures that you shouldn't miss when you visit.

4. Some of the most significant relics and excavated antiquities representing the art and culture of the regions in and around Lucknow, notably where Lord Buddha grew up, are housed in what were once solely paintings and sculptures displaying the Awadhi legacy.

Entry Fees: ₹2 for children above 5 years, ₹5 for Indian adults, ₹50 for foreign nationals, ₹20 for camera fee and entry for groups of school children is free
