The Awadh Queer Pride is an annual event held in Lucknow, India every pride month. The event, inspired by the first pride parade in India, the Kolkata Pride was first held on April 9, 2017. It is organized by the Award Queer Pride Community (AQPC) which is managed by volunteers.
After the event becoming a success in 2017, 400 people attended the second Awadh Queer Pride Walk in 2018. In 2021, actresses Ridhi Dogra and Monica Dogra also participated in it on account of their work in the film, ‘The Married Woman.’
The eighth edition of this event was held earlier this year in February. The walk started from Saharaganj via Hazratganj and finally culminated at Hazrat Mahal Park. Not just this, close to 1000 people participated in it.
This year, to celebrate the Pride Month will full zest and fervor, The Awadh Queer Pride has organized a ‘Pajama Party’ at Twilight Cyber Heights 91st Floor, Cyber Heights, Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.) There will be music and drinks. The event is scheduled on June 16, 7:00 p.m. onwards with Rs. 400 per person entry charges.
