Driven by rising tourist arrivals and the rapid growth of religious, cultural and heritage tourism, the expansion will increase Uttar Pradesh’s luxury hotel room capacity from around 2,000 to over 5,000. The hotels will come up across key destinations including Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Vrindavan, Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bijnor and Gorakhpur, strengthening both pilgrimage and urban travel circuits.

The Tata Group has also indicated plans to explore another 30 hotels by 2026, including a proposed signature hotel in Noida, alongside cultural initiatives such as the Museum of Temple Architecture in Ayodhya and heritage restoration projects in the Mathura-Vrindavan region.

For Lucknow, the expansion signals increased business and leisure travel, improved hospitality infrastructure and fresh employment opportunities, reinforcing the city’s role as a growing tourism and commercial hub in Uttar Pradesh.
