At the heart of Phase II is the Charbagh–Vasant Kunj corridor, a 11.16-kilometre stretch designed to improve connectivity between the old city areas and western Lucknow. The corridor will include a mix of underground and elevated stations, making travel smoother for thousands of daily commuters while also easing traffic congestion on busy city roads.

The project is being jointly funded by the central and Uttar Pradesh governments, underscoring its importance in the state’s urban infrastructure roadmap. With preparatory work already underway, construction is expected to commence in the coming months.

Once completed, the new corridor is expected to significantly reduce travel time, improve access to key neighbourhoods, and strengthen last-mile connectivity. The project is targeted for completion within five years, promising a more connected and commuter-friendly Lucknow in the near future.

For residents, Phase II of the Lucknow Metro is more than just an infrastructure project—it’s a step toward a faster, cleaner, and more efficient way to move across the city.
