Uttar Pradesh's capital, Lucknow, is about to undergo a dramatic change. The city is expected to improve connectivity, shorten travel times, and strengthen its position as a growing megacity with the completion of a number of significant road and transport projects.
A circular corridor spanning 170 kilometres around the city, the Orbital Railway Corridor is valued at Rs 7,500 CR. The Railway Cargo Terminal at Mohanlalganj and the Maga Passenger Terminal next to Shaheed Path would be part of this. As a result, the city will not be accessible by Freight Trains.
Aka SCR-OUTER Ring Road, will be a six-lane, 250-kilometer ring road that connects the SCR towns in the Lucknow area. To keep large cargo vehicles out of the city, this will be designated for them.
By connecting Purvanchal Motorway to Lucknow Agra Motorway, this 60-kilometer motorway, which is planned for Mohanlalganj on the outskirts of Lucknow, will eliminate the need for vehicles travelling from Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to Wester Uttar Pradesh or Delhi to enter the city.
Five locations on the outer ring road have previously been chosen by the transport department with the goal of establishing a bus terminal in PPP mode. Reducing reliance at the current bus terminals within the city is the goal.
