Sawan Ki Bahaar: Lucknow Is Ready for a Monsoon Celebration

If the first rains make you crave jhoolas, mehendi, monsoon songs and a plate of something delicious, you have plans on August 16. Lucknow Bioscope, Sanatkada and Naimatkhana are joining hands for Sawan Ki Bahaar, a celebration of everything that makes the monsoon special in Awadh.

And this isn't just another event to attend. Think of it as a little trip into the Sawan of old Lucknow—with folk songs, stories, crafts, flowers, food and plenty of colour.

From 2:30 PM onwards, head to the Live Leheriya Dupatta & Phoolon Ke Zewar Demonstration. Hosted as part of the celebrations, the session explores two beautiful traditions associated with Sawan and festive gatherings in Awadh.

Then comes the evening's highlight. At 6:30 PM, Jhoola Kinne Daara: Songs and Stories of the Monsoon, presented by Dholak Rani, will bring the sounds and stories of the Ganga-Jamuna region to life.
