According to the curator, the collection reflects Bhugra’s lifelong contribution to Indian printmaking and explores themes of human emotions, social realities and nature through a blend of traditional and contemporary artistic styles.

Bhugra, who studied at the College of Arts & Crafts in Lucknow, later spent nearly 35 years teaching at the institution and retired as Head of Department in 2010. Over the years, his work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including shows in Norway, Australia and the United States.
