Lucknow’s daily commuters can look forward to smoother and faster travel as the Daliganj–Samta Mulak intersection stretch of the Green Corridor is expected to open on February 22, 2026. The much-awaited stretch will be inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh along with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, bringing major relief to traffic-hit areas of the city.

Developed by the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), the Green Corridor is envisioned as a signal-free urban road network aimed at easing congestion across some of Lucknow’s busiest zones. This stretch is part of the larger 57-km Green Corridor project, which connects IIM Road to Kisan Path, helping commuters bypass crowded city roads.

The second phase includes newly built bridges, road overbridges (ROBs), and embankments between Daliganj, Hanuman Setu, Nishatganj, and Samta Mulak. Once operational, it is expected to significantly cut down travel time in areas such as Nishatganj, University Chowk, Lucknow University campus, Hanuman Setu, and Daliganj. Notably, the commute between Gomti Nagar and Daliganj could reduce to just 5–7 minutes.

The project comes at an estimated cost of ₹2,078 crore, including major investments in overbridges and road widening near Hanuman Setu and Nishatganj. Locals have already expressed excitement on social media, hopeful that the corridor will bring long-term relief—while also urging authorities to ensure smooth traffic flow without new bottlenecks.

Once opened, the Green Corridor is expected to transform daily travel in central Lucknow, making commutes faster, more efficient, and less stressful for thousands of residents.
