In a big boost to rail connectivity in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off multiple Amrit Bharat Express trains on July 18, 2025, including one that adds a third Amrit Bharat service for Lucknow.
Initially scheduled to receive two such trains, the city will now benefit from three Amrit Bharat Express trains, significantly improving budget rail travel options for long-distance passengers.
Passengers travelling from Lucknow to West Bengal and Bihar would now have a smoother trip. Beginning on July 18, the railway administration will operate three Amrit Bharat Express trains: one to Darbhanga (Bihar), one to Malda Town (West Bengal), and one to Bapudham Motihari (Bihar) Anand Vihar via Lucknow.
Lucknow’s inclusion in the Amrit Bharat network is not just symbolic—it represents a major step forward for inter-state rail travel connecting Eastern India with the capital of Uttar Pradesh.
As Lucknow gears up for this milestone in public transport, the city reinforces its place as a growing rail hub in North India—welcoming faster, better, and more inclusive travel experiences for its people.
