Lucknow is about to get its own Book Street! The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has announced plans to develop a Grand Literary Street at Buddh Vihar Shanti Upvan in Alambagh — a one-of-a-kind cultural destination designed to celebrate the city’s timeless love for books and learning.

This development project in Lucknow will feature a New Age Library inside the Centre Library Building, complete with modern facilities, digital reading access, and quiet study pods. Surrounding the library, visitors can explore book cafés, open-air reading spots, art installations, and walking-friendly lanes that promise to bring readers, writers, and dreamers together.

Drawing inspiration from global attractions like Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, the Grand Literary Street in Lucknow will become a hotspot for book lovers and cultural explorers.

According to LDA officials, the Literary Street in Lucknow will also host book fairs, author meetups, poetry slams, and creative workshops throughout the year — making it a must-visit cultural landmark in the City of Nawabs.

Located near Ambedkar Chauraha, the site will offer easy access for students, families, and literature lovers. Tenders for conceptualisation and design have already been floated, with November 27, 2025, as the final date for bid submission.

Once completed, the Grand Literary Street is expected to be a new icon of Lucknow’s creative and cultural renaissance, blending leisure, art, and education in one beautiful open-air setting.
