The Indian Army's Territorial Division has started the River Yoga Campaign at Kudiya Ghat, Lucknow, in an attempt to purify the Gomti River. The campaign, which ends on International Yoga Day, will run from April 21 to June 21, 2025, with the goal of enhancing public interaction with the river.

The 137 Composite Ecological Task Force Battalion (Territorial Army) 39 Gorkha Rifles is organising the event in cooperation with the State Mission for Clean Ganga (SMCG-UP), Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), and Nagar Nigam Lucknow. Every significant ghat along the Gomti River is included in the effort.

Public yoga classes are offered by trained instructors every morning from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM, and then there are cleanliness drives down the riverbank. The program is actively participated in by residents, students, civil society organisations, and NCC/NSS participants.

The campaign's weekly theme focus, which covers topics like "Plastic-Free Ghats," "Healthy Rivers, Healthy Lives," and "Mindfulness by the River," is one of its most important features. These topics aim to raise public awareness of the critical link between individual wellbeing and environmental sustainability.

On June 21, 2025, the campaign will come to an end with a large-scale yoga performance, an exhibition featuring campaign highlights, and a ceremony at Kudiya Ghat to honour exceptional contributors.
