All You Need To Know About The Swanky New Terminal 3 in Lucknow

Travel is the best therapy. And travelling in style is a cherry on the cake. If you’re flying from The Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSIA), the Lucknow airport, now, you can experience the swanky new terminal 3 which is catering to domestic as well as international flights with an ability to handle 4000 passengers during the rush hour.

The new terminal was inaugurated by honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi in March earlier this year and has used an investment of Rs. 2400 crores. The mesmerizing architecture of the terminal boasts of check-in counters with illuminated motifs of the special Lucknowi ‘Chikankari’ and ‘Mukaish’ embroidery. The graphics tell stories from the popular Hindu epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata.

Not just this, an audio-visual experience has also been setup at the airport highlighting the art and architecture of Uttar Pradesh, starting from the entry gates to the skylight.

The terminal has 72 check-in counters for passenger convenience out of which 17 have self-baggage drop facility and 62 are immigration counters. This has been done to ensure smooth transit for passengers and prevent crowding at any point.

In some time, the newly constructed terminal is also expected to increase passenger boarding gates. The capacity augmentation will also help in simplifying travel for one and all. Are you excited to be at this new terminal?
