An International Convention and Exhibition Centre (ICEC) is planned for the state capital. According to a state government official, the centre, which is expected to be built under the Avadh Vihar Yojana, will house 10,000 people and span 1.32 lakh square meters.

The planning department has begun preparing for the construction project and has created a blueprint. The complex would feature 4 exhibition spaces, including an auditorium that can accommodate 2,500 people, as per the concept. The state government has set an 18-month timetable to meet the goal.

According to the sources, the ICEC's development and construction will cost Rs 1058.22 crore (including GST). According to the spokesman, special attention is being paid to making sure that all construction and development-related work is of the highest calibre and complies with international standards.

When the centre is finished, it will be one of the locations around the nation that can successfully hold major national and international events in the future. Modern amenities will be available at the centre. A 300 kW solar-powered power plant, a state-of-the-art digital public address system, and a contemporary audio-visual system are other planned additions.

The planning department has planned to build the centre using the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode. In the basement of the Convention Centre and Auditorium Building, a sizable parking lot will be built. In addition, four 35-meter-tall clock towers, restroom blocks, a driver's lounge, service rooms, and a walkover pathway will be built.
