One of the most well-liked local street food establishments in Hazratganj, Lucknow, Shukla Chaat House is well-known for its chaat, particularly aloo tikki, matar ki chaat, paani ke batashe, dahi bada, dahi batashe, and papdi chaat. Shuklaji's Chaat House, a Chaat Shop for Chaat Lovers, was founded in 1968.
Lucknow's Renowned Shukla Chaat:
Dinesh Shankar Shukla who is around 65, worked in banking before retiring. He has been serving batashas at Shukla Chaat House, one of Lucknow's most recognisable chaat establishments, for the last 50 years.
His father, Mangala Prasad Shukla, established the store in 1968 after being inspired to start his own business by his wife, Kaushalya Devi. With a love for cooking, Kaushalya Devi would prepare delicious savoury dishes for her children, such as bataashe and chaat. Her recipes are still followed by the outlet today.
Located on a little corner of Hazratganj's Church Road, the chaat point is run by the four Shukla brothers, who claim to be fortunate to be entertaining the large groups of chaat enthusiasts who regularly visit the shop.
Both locals and visitors have been enjoying this shop’s crispy aloo tikkis loaded with fresh yoghurt, mouthwatering chutneys, masala, papdi chaat, pani ke batashe, or golgappas for years.
