Lucknow is all set to celebrate the king of fruits in all its glory as the UP State Mango Festival 2025 returns to Awadh Shilpgram from July 4 to 6. Organised by the Uttar Pradesh Horticulture Department, this much-awaited event will bring together over 600 varieties of mangoes from across the state and beyond, turning the venue into a vibrant showcase of colour, culture, and cultivation.
From the famed Malihabadi Dussehri and Langra to lesser-known varieties like Rataul and Gulabkhas, visitors can expect to see, taste, and learn about mangoes like never before.
The three-day event will include:
- Mango exhibitions featuring hundreds of traditional and hybrid varieties.
- Mango-eating contests and culinary competitions, with chefs crafting mango-based dishes from chutneys to desserts.
- Workshops and buyer-seller meets, offering insights into mango cultivation, post-harvest handling, pest control, and marketing strategies.
- Live cultural performances, folk music, and storytelling sessions to create a festive, family-friendly atmosphere.
- Participation from growers and exhibitors from other mango-growing states like Bihar, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.
The festival goes beyond mere exhibition—it supports the local rural economy by directly linking farmers with consumers and traders. It also encourages sustainable farming practices and provides a platform for innovation in agro-processing and export strategies.
