Get ready to experience a slice of the hills right here in Lucknow! The city is gearing up to host the Uttarakhand Mahotsav 2025, a vibrant ten-day cultural extravaganza that will run from November 9 to 18. The festival will take place at the Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant Parvatiya Sanskritik Upvan, beautifully nestled near the scenic banks of the Gomti River.
Organised by the Uttarakhand Mahaparishad, the Uttarakhand Mahotsav 2025 will bring the sights, sounds, and flavours of the hills to Lucknow with a vibrant mix of folk dance, music, food, and crafts. The highlight of the event will be the “Dance Uttarakhand Dance” competition, alongside “Nachega Bharat” showcasing folk dances from across India and the traditional “Jhora” performance by 35 women’s teams.
Apart from enjoying the performances, visitors also have the opportunity to participate in music competitions in Kumaoni, Garhwali, and Jaunsari languages, with winners receiving cash prizes — ₹3.5 lakh for dance and ₹75,000 for singing.
The festival will also host stalls of authentic Uttarakhand food, handcrafted items, and traditional clothing, offering an immersive experience of the state’s rich culture. A free health camp and several community initiatives will also be part of the celebration.
More than a festival, the Uttarakhand Mahotsav is a cultural bridge that connects communities and celebrates heritage. It offers a stage to young artists from Uttarakhand while promoting cultural exchange between Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
For Lucknow, the festival adds a vibrant new chapter to its growing cultural calendar. As music, dance, and the aroma of Pahadi delicacies fill the air along the Gomti banks, the city is set to glow with the energy and warmth of Uttarakhand’s mountain spirit.
