Lucknow’s cultural scene is set to get a thoughtful new addition with an upcoming exhibition that reimagines the city through a different lens. Titled “Feminists of Awadh Par Salaam: Tracing the City Through Its Women,” the exhibition will open from March 28, 2026 onwards, inviting visitors to explore Lucknow’s history through the lives and voices of its women.
Presented by Lucknow Bioscope, this will be their sixth exhibition, and it promises to offer a fresh perspective on the city’s cultural and social fabric. Instead of looking at history through conventional narratives, the showcase focuses on women who have shaped Lucknow across generations—within homes, classrooms, streets and public life.
The exhibition explores how feminism in Lucknow has often been quietly lived rather than loudly declared. Through stories, journeys and lived experiences, visitors are encouraged to pause, reflect and rediscover the city in a new light—one shaped by resilience, creativity and everyday contributions of women.
Open to the public from March 28, the exhibition is expected to attract those interested in history, culture and storytelling. For many, it offers not just an outing, but a chance to engage with a deeper, more personal side of Lucknow’s identity.
If you’re looking for something meaningful to do in the city, this exhibition might just change the way you see Lucknow.
