From March 1 to July 15, flight operations at Chaudhary Charan Singh International (CCSI) Airport in Lucknow will be suspended from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm in order to recarpet runway 09/27.
After many years of serving the airport and its travellers, the current runway has to be upgraded to ensure maximum efficiency and dependability. It will be recarpeted to enhance its strength, profile, texture, friction, and operating efficiency, among other related repairs that have been envisioned throughout the years. To accommodate the recarpeting work, the flights would be rescheduled.
The airport will carry out a thorough plan during this time to guarantee service continuity and minimise any possible disruptions to travellers and airlines.
The bituminous runway, which is 2,744 meters long and 45 meters wide, with a 7.5-meter shoulder on either side, was last recarpeted in 2018. The planned recarpeting will involve milling the current bituminous runway, then bituminous overlay and inlay to satisfy the design specifications in accordance with the regulator's criteria. The runway and taxiways will be recarpeted, covering a total area of 1.80 lakh square meters.
132 flights per day will be facilitated by CCSI Airport while it is being recarpeted. Passengers are urged to check with their particular airlines for any updates or adjustments, as some flight schedules may be modified.
