Famous across Uttar Pradesh for its massive range of fireworks at wholesale prices, this vibrant marketplace becomes the ultimate destination for traders and households gearing up for the festival of lights.
Situated about 20 km from Lucknow’s city center, Kakori is a town steeped in history — known for the legendary Kakori Train Action of 1925, a defining moment in India’s freedom movement. Over the years, however, Kakori has also earned more festive fame as home to one of the largest firecracker wholesale markets in the region.

Every year, especially from October to November, the area near Saleempur Kakori transforms into the Kakori Patakha Mandi — a sprawling seasonal bazaar where hundreds of stalls sell fireworks of every kind imaginable. The market serves both wholesale dealers and retail customers, drawing buyers from Lucknow, Unnao, Barabanki, Sitapur, Hardoi, and beyond.
