Lucknow is getting another attraction to add to its growing tourism scene! The Naval Valor Museum in CG City is set to expand with a 6.8-acre water body, boating facilities and a light and sound show. The proposal was approved at a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The upcoming expansion aims to make the museum more than just a place to learn about the Indian Navy. Visitors can look forward to replicas of naval ships displayed in the water, while a light and sound show will bring India’s maritime history to life.
Plans also include a digital gallery, interactive exhibits and a large aquarium, adding more experiences for families and children. The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will provide the land to the Tourism Department for a token amount of ₹1 lakh.
The museum’s first phase, known as Naval Valor Vatika, was inaugurated on May 30, 2026. It is already open to visitors and features naval equipment, torpedo launchers, missile containers and parts of actual warships and submarines.
One of its biggest attractions is the TU-142 maritime patrol aircraft, which visitors can explore from the inside.
The three-phase project has received approvals totalling approximately ₹69.10 crore, with completion targeted for 2027. Once the expansion is ready, the museum could become an exciting weekend outing for Lucknow residents interested in India's naval history, technology and maritime heritage.
