Lucknow is gearing up for a vibrant and socially conscious celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi in 2025. The 10-day festival kicks off on Tuesday, 26 August, and will culminate with Lord Ganesha's immersion on Ananta Chaturdashi, roughly around early September.
One of Lucknow’s most iconic Ganesh Utsav destinations is Jhulelal Vatika, located near Hanuman Setu on the Gomti Riverfront. Popularly known as “Manotion Ke Raja”, this pandal attracts lakhs of devotees every year with its lavish theme-based decorations and devotional ambience. Jhulelal Vatika truly captures the essence of Ganesh Utsav—where faith, festivity, and cultural celebration come together in a grand way.
Among the most popular pandals in Lucknow, Patrakar Puram in Gomti Nagar is known for its cultural programs and devotional performances that bring the community together during Ganesh Utsav. This pandal is perfect for those who wish to experience a devotional yet artistic vibe, where tradition meets cultural entertainment.
The Aminabad Ganesh Pandal, lovingly known as “Aminabad Ke Raja”, is one of the oldest and most iconic Ganesh Utsav destinations in Lucknow. Established in 1921 by the Maharashtrian community, this pandal has been keeping the tradition alive for over a century.
Centered around the Ramlila Ground in Aishbagh, this celebration is organized by local Ganesh Seva Mandals, including groups like Sudarshan Ganesh Seva Mandal. The evenings come alive with bhajan sandhyas and various community-driven cultural programs, creating an engaging and devotional ambiance.
This pandal is renowned for its imposing architecture and theme-based designs. In past years, it featured themes like the temples of Kedarnath and Jagannath, with pandals as big as fifty feet and idols that were between eleven and twelve feet tall, made by craftspeople from Kolkata and West Bengal. This place has an unrivalled lively fair vibe. Social media posts indicate that the pandal would have a huge Shivling theme in 2025.
