Lucknow is preparing for a spiritually vibrant weekend as the Shree Ram Hanumat Mahotsav will be held on May 16 and 17 at Balrampur Garden in Hazratganj. Organized during the sacred Bada Mangal period dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the two-day celebration is expected to draw thousands of devotees from across the city.
The mahotsav will feature devotional activities including Hanuman Chalisa recitations, Sundarkand Path, bhajan-kirtan, spiritual discourses, and traditional Bhandara seva. The event aims to celebrate devotion towards Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman while bringing together the community in an atmosphere of faith and cultural unity.
Bada Mangal holds special significance in Lucknow, where Hanuman devotion is celebrated on every Tuesday of the Jyeshtha month with large-scale food distribution, temple gatherings, and religious processions across the city. In 2026, the celebrations are considered even more special due to the rare occurrence of eight Bada Mangal dates in the Hindu calendar.
Located in the heart of Hazratganj, Balrampur Garden is one of Lucknow’s most prominent venues for large public and cultural gatherings, making it an ideal location for the grand Hanumat celebration.
