Lucknow’s urban wild is calling. The Ataavi Bird Foundation is hosting a Birding Bharat – Bird Walk at Lakshmanpuri Ecotourism Reserve on Sunday, 16 November, from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. This guided morning walk brings the city’s birdlife into sharp focus — perfect for beginners, families and seasoned birders alike.
The upcoming Bird Walk in Lucknow this Sunday is a ticketed event with only 20 exclusive spots available. Registration is still open, so nature enthusiasts can book their place before it fills up. Tickets are priced at ₹200 per person. Click here to register.
Participants will gather at SGPGI Gate No. 1, Raebareilly Road, Lucknow, from where the group will head together into the Lakshmanpuri Ecotourism Reserve for a two-hour guided bird-watching session led by experts from Ataavi’s Birding Bharat Series.
Notably, the Ataavi Bird Foundation runs the Birding Bharat series across Indian cities to promote bird-watching, urban wetland conservation and citizen science. Their previous Lucknow outings — including walks at wetlands like Ekana — have recorded high species counts in short timeframes, demonstrating both the biodiversity present and the value of guided walks for learning and enjoyment.
Attendees from prior events report spotting dozens of species and gaining practical birding tips from experienced guides.
Lakshmanpuri Ecotourism Reserve is a green pocket that supports a variety of resident and migratory birds. Expect to hear rich dawn choruses and spot waterbirds, warblers, raptors and common urban species as guides help you identify calls, plumage and behaviour.
The walk follows an easy pace with short stops for spotting and photography, making it suitable for all ages and experience levels. Attendees often return with improved ID skills, a few memorable photographs, and a deeper appreciation of Lucknow’s wetlands
